Q. What is TRS?

A. The Transaction Reporting System (TRS) will be a centralized repository of detailed collection transaction information that will simplify Federal Program Agency (FPA) revenue management and accounting processes and reduce collection costs. As a unified repository of collection transactions, TRS will provide a single touchpoint from which an agency can obtain detailed transaction data and standard reports that meet agency needs. Once completed, TRS will alleviate the following business problems:

  • Proliferation of reporting touch points across banks and agencies

  • Proprietary reporting formats to each agency from each DFI and collection system endpoint

  • Costs of customization across many agencies

  • Impact on managing banking relationships

Q. Who will access TRS?

A. Each user will be assigned access to TRS by a security administrator from his/her agency. Users will be assigned permissions based on their duties in the revenue collection and reconciliation process.

Q. When will TRS be released?

A. TRS will become available to an initial group of agencies in 2008.

Q. How do I get additional and/or updated TRS materials and information?

A. For any new or additional information, check this website at a later date or contact Christina Cox of FMS at (202) 874-7207.

Q. How will agencies and financial institutions be informed of updates and/or changes?

A. FMS will communicate any critical updates and production dates to all FPAs and financial institutions.
