Events - "Introduction to TRS" Sessions

"Introduction to TRS" Sessions

The “Introduction to TRS” sessions provide a comprehensive overview of TRS, its planned functionality and what agencies are expected to do in order to prepare for the migration. In addition, these sessions provide an opportunity for collaboration and information sharing among FMS, your agency, and the TRS Team, making sure that your agency’s needs are represented as we refine development plans for TRS and begin rolling it out to agencies.  Participation in an “Introduction to TRS” session is encouraged for decision-makers who will be guiding their agencies’ transition to TRS.  (The “Introduction to TRS” sessions provide a high-level overview and are not intended to be training for how to use the system.  Training for how to use the system will occur through web-based training.)

Members of the TRS Agency User Group are actively engaged during a recent meeting

What’s Included?
Agencies will have a chance to learn more about TRS, what agencies need to do to get ready for it, and how other agencies are preparing for the changes that will be taking place. In addition, participants will be able to provide feedback on the planned system and reports, offering an opportunity to help refine the development plans for TRS.  Participants will:

  • Collaborate and exchange information with FMS, the TRS Team, and other agencies

  • Provide input that will help refine the development plans for TRS

  • Learn about the transition of agencies to TRS and estimate when your agency will be able to enroll.

Included in the agenda will be the following topics:

  • A comprehensive overview of TRS

  • A comparison of TRS and CA$HLINK II

  • How agencies can prepare for the migration
  • TRS data repository

  • Agency reporting and file transmissions

  • Transition planning

  • Agency enrollment.

See sample agendaPortable Document Format File for the “Introduction to TRS” session.

Who Should Attend?

The “Introduction to TRS” sessions are designed to assist in planning for the transition to TRS from CA$HLINK II. Those who will benefit most from the session will be those who function in a planning role for the agency’s collections and reconciliation processes. Guidelines for choosing who should attend include:

  • Someone who is authorized to speak on behalf of your agency about collections

  • Someone who has a comprehensive knowledge of your agency's collections processes and related information needs

  • Someone who has a comprehensive knowledge of your agency’s reconciliation process and related information needs.

Sign up for a Future Session

The TRS Agency Outreach Team presents at least one “Introduction to TRSPortable Document Format File session each quarter. These sessions have no registration fee. Most sessions are in Washington, D.C., but the team plans at least one event each year in the West. The “Introduction to TRS” sessions have been popular, and the team maintains a list for those interested in future sessions.
