Outreach Event & Training for TAS/BETCs and CARS

Training is provided free of charge to support Treasury’s initiate to modernize the payments, collections, central accounting and reporting systems. A mandate requires all agencies to submit payment data in a standard input format and to provide accounting information with every financial transaction by October 1, 2014.

Training Objectives Recommended Participants
TAS/BETC Readiness Training TAS/BETC Readiness Training sessions focus on functional aspects of preparing Federal Program Agencies to become GWA/CARS Reporters for the October 1, 2014 mandate. The primary focus will be on functional changes for each application, including live demonstrations.

Training will be presented by key personnel from the GWA, SAM, SPS, and DNP applications.

* Participation in a TAS/BETC Readiness Training session provides instruction on screen changes and satisfies the SPS training requirement to become a CARS Reporter.

TAS/BETC Technical Walkthrough TAS/BETC Technical Walkthrough sessions focus on technical aspects of preparing Federal Program Agencies to become GWA/CARS Reporters for the October 1, 2014 mandate. The primary focus will be on the detailed technical changes for each payment application, including a walkthrough of file format data elements for the program upload files.

Training will be presented by key personnel from the GWA, SAM, SPS, and PAM applications.

PAM Webinar PAM Webinar Sessions provide Federal Program Agencies (FPAs) with training on changes to Treasury’s Payment Application Modernization (PAM) application, including file format changes, the addition of Treasury Account Symbol/Business Event Type Codes (TAS/BETCs), and impacts on payment processing.

PAM CTX Webinar Sessions PAM CTX Webinar Sessions provide Federal Program Agencies (FPAs) with training on changes to files sent to Treasury’s PAM application using the Corporate Trade Exchange (CTX) format. Items necessary for consideration as vendors begin to test with Treasury will be reviewed.
  • Individuals who have direct knowledge of the current CTX format used to submit bulk payment files to Treasury
  • Vendors who support FPA’s for processing federal payments through Treasury
  • Programmers and testers who are responsible for making programming changes and testing vendor software of payment files sent to Treasury
  • Subject matter experts who understand the processes for federal payments being sent to Treasury for processing

Key SPS personnel will lead the labs, explaining the connection between Treasury initiatives, the October 1, 2014 mandate, and how DEOs and COs can thoroughly prepare to become GWA/CARS reporters.
