System Enhancements

System Enhancements in Governmentwide Financial Report System (GFRS) for FY 2007

There were system enhancements in GFRS during fiscal year 2007 and are listed below.

Text Field Enlargement:

• GF006 Notes & GF007 Other Data Modules - The Agency Notes field now allows a maximum of 50 characters (including spaces) for agencies to reference the source(s) of the information for a given note.

Population of Prior Period Data

• GF006 FR Notes and GF007 Other Data Notes - FY 06 data will automatically roll into the FY 06 columns for notes that have the standard 4 column setup: current period, prior period, previously reported and line item changes. This data will be changeable by the user and all changes will override the original values.

Reports

• You now have the option to generate all reports simultaneously for the following modules GF002 and GF004. All reports that can be printed at one time are located under the GFRS Reports Screen (GFRPT) menu option and include:

• 2. GF003F Agency Closing Package Statements
• 3. GF003G Closing Package Line Reclassification Summary Report
• 4. GF004F Trading Partner Summary Note Report
• 5. GF006F Notes Status
• 6. GF007F Other Data FR Status

Beginning third quarter FY 2007, FMS will discontinue emailing agencies the following quarterly intragovernmental activity reports generated from the Intragovernmental Reporting and Analysis System (IRAS) tool:

• Intragovernmental Activity Detail Report by Trading Partner
• Intragovernmental Activity Summary Report by Trading Partner
• Intragovernmental Reciprocal Category Summary Report
• Intragovernmental Reciprocal Category Detail Report
• Fiduciary Quarterly Data vs. IFCS Agency Benefits Report
• Fiduciary Quarterly Data vs. IFCS Comparison Report
• Intragovernmental Material Differences/Status of Disposition Certification Report

The agencies will be required to retrieve their intragovernmental reports via Discoverer Viewer, a query tool integrated in the Governmentwide Financial Report System (GFRS).

The content of the intragovernmental reports from Discoverer Viewer will be similar to what agencies currently receive. In the query tool, users have the option to view or download the reports to/from Excel and/or Adobe Acrobat. Therefore, based on the user's application selection, the look and feel of the report may be different but the content remains the same.

To obtain access to this query tool, interested users who are not a current GFRS user are required to submit the Enterprise System Access Request
